Hola! Hola! Teach Your Child Spanish Workshop

Recent research is showing there are many benefits to bilingual education. Check out this article! Then come join us for a super fun and informative workshop and leave with the simple tools to successfully start an exciting bilingual journey with your child.

The first 30 minutes will be an interactive class with parent and child where parents will experience how to use 10 of the bilingual songs/finger plays/singing games that are on the CD included in your workshop fee. The second half of the workshop will be a verbal presentation for the parents on the basics of raising bilingual children. Suggested daily routines, useful tools, and activities (low cost to free) that are available in the Austin area for parents and young children that support Spanish learning and awareness and appreciation of the Latin culture will be presented. The workshop will end with a brief question and answer session.

Paper and crayons will be available for your children for the second portion of the workshop, but parents may want to bring an activity from home to help supplement. You may also come without your children. Some parents feel more at ease absorbing the information, taking notes and asking questions without their child in attendance.

Participants will receive a CD with 21 music tracks and a Parent Guide including lyrics to the songs, fingerplays and games we will learn in Spanish and English, a recommended bilingual book list, ideas for maximizing the use of your local library, support in how to teach your child to read in Spanish, art activity suggestions, free online support tools, and ideas of super fun and educational field trips in and around Austin.

Tuition for the workshop is $35.00 and includes the Parent Guide and CD.
